Jon is currently an Executive Vice President at CBRE Debt and Structured Finance Group. His background includes 20 years of commercial real estate mortgage and banking experience including credit analysis, loan origination, banking portfolio analysis, and management of analysts and loan officers. Jon has been involved in the origination of over $3 billion in loan closings in his career. Prior to CBRE, Jon was a founding partner at Capstone Financial in 2008 which was eventually acquired by CBRE in 2017. Jon has experience working at a CPA firm with a specialization in taxes and large banks prior to Capstone. Jon has a wide network of debt relationships including banks, CTL lenders, life insurance companies, debt funds, CMBS, and agency lenders. Jon also has experience in equity raises including joint ventures, GP/LP, mezzanine debt, and preferred equity. Jon has financed industrial, office, hospitality, multifamily, retail, and self-store in his career.

Specializing in Debt and Structured Finance throughout the U.S.

Jon Faulkenberg, Sean Busch, and team specialize in loan originations across the United States. Our clients are global in reach and range in net worth from roughly $1 million to over $1 billion. The team, comprised of three professionals based out of the CBRE-Indianapolis office, has secured more than $2.7 billion in aggregated debt. Our team specializes in every asset type and have programs including commercial bank debt, CMBS securitization, CTL, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, preferred equity, mezz financing, bridge, LP/JV equity, and construction.

In 2017, CBRE identified an opportunity to expand its debt & structured finance platform and acquired Capstone Financial, along with its proprietary work-flow technology. Led by Jon Faulkenberg, Capstone Financial was a national boutique commercial real estate finance and consulting firm in the U.S. This acquisition enhances CBRE’s debt and structured finance service offering nationally while providing additional client service advantages in the Midwest. Clients range from private investors, developers and business owners to and institutional investors.
