- Most of the data center development in Central Washington consists of preleased single-tenant facilities. There is very little new or available colocation product.
Market Trends
- Central Washington continued to provide one of the lowest total costs of data center occupancy due to inexpensive green hydro power.
- Power rates remained near record lows.
- Properties that are already in the interconnection queue with utility providers have a timing advantage.
- Hyperscalers and data center developers continued to comb the region for suitable sites.
- Data center owners are exploring alternative power sources, such as combinations of solar, batteries, wind and biofuels.
Notable Activity
- CyrusOne’s fast-track Quincy development is scheduled for completion this year.
- H5 Data Centers completed a 20-MW lease to Voltage Park at its Quincy facility.
- Sabey Data Centers continued its growth in East Wenatchee with 7.6 MWs of additional capacity at SDC Columbia Building D and in Quincy with 15 MW of additional power at both Building D and Building E, as well as construction of Building F with 40 MWs.
- Sabey and Vantage each acquired large additional parcels adjacent to their respective Quincy campuses.
