Colocation Insights

  • Central Washington’s data center presence mostly consists of hyperscale and single-tenant facilities, with limited colocation options.
  • Most projects are 100% preleased before completion.

Market Trends

  • The region’s power rates are close to North America’s lowest, at $0.028-$0.035 per kW, due to its renewable green hydropower.
  • Power demand is heavily outstripping supply in Quincy. The Public Utility District’s planned infrastructure enhancements should dramatically increase future power availability.

Notable Activity

  • Serverfarm completed a 9.5 MW lease to a hyperscaler at its TiTAN Data Center in Moses Lake.
  • Cyrus One is now actively under construction in northwestern Quincy, after holding its greenfield site for seven years.
  • Sabey delivered 6 MW for its first tenant at SDC Quincy's Building E, which has approximately 323,000 sq. ft. of data center space. For its second data hall, Sabey will deliver 7 to 9 MW to accommodate denser configurations. The building will deliver up to 56 MW when fully occupied. Sabey Data Centers’ SDC Quincy Building D is 100% preleased and under construction, with both air-cooled chillers and chilled water loops.
  • Washington State renewed and expanded its tax abatement program for renovation or construction of qualifying data centers of at least 100,000 sq. ft. The tax benefits extend into 2048.
